Counseling Mission:

To assist individuals, couples and youth with the resolution of internal and external conflict in a safe, explorative environment, using a humanistic approach. Therapeutic techniques employed seek to motivate and empower clients to explore options, make effective decisions that meet their individual and joint needs in concert with self-acceptance, authenticity and integration; and to facilitate motivation and focus and nurture creativity of writers, artists and visionaries.

I specialize in working with adult children with trauma based childhoods, adult children of alcoholic parents, resulting in depression, anxiety, dissociation, addiction and unresolved sexual issues. I have previous experience as a social worker with child abuse/neglect programs and find that many of my clients who come to me as adults come from trauma-based childhood situations. I employ eclectic approaches - cognitive behavioral, gestalt, REI (couples), psychodrama, mindful awareness, effective communication skills training, etc.; these are selected and based upon client needs and resources.
